A CELEBRATION AND CRITICAL DISCUSSION OF DARNELL L. MOORE'S NEW BOOK NO ASHES IN THE FIRE: COMING OF AGE BLACK AND FREE IN AMERICA
The evening begins with a musical selection from the spiritual, soulful, talented musical artist Marcelle Davies Lashley. We will then move to a roundtable discussion of No Ashes in the Fire. Roundtable participants include Kai M. Green, a brilliant, dynamic Assistant Professor of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Williams College, Kim Ford, powerful community organizer and Interim Executive Director of the Audre Lorde Project, and Kendall Thomas, the Nash Professor of Law and director of the Center for the Study of Law and Culture at Columbia Law School.
