Biography

Nyle Fort is a minister, organizer, and scholar whose work meditates on the meaning and making of life, love, and liberation. His intellectual vocation is rooted in the freedom dreams of those who resist oppression, build beloved community, and struggle to transform the world.

Nyle’s current book project, “Freedom Is a Feeling!: Sermons on the Spiritual Life of Social Movements” (under advanced contract with University of California Press), is a sacred meditation on the ethical dimensions of the long black freedom struggle. His scholarship has been funded by the Ford Foundation, the University of Pennsylvania, the Forum for Theological Exploration, the Woodrow Wilson Foundation, and the Atlantic Fellowship for Racial Equity.
