In honor of Women’s History Month, Columbia University student and alumni women veterans are invited to enjoy a catered reception at the newly dedicated space for the Center for Veteran Transition and Integration (CVTI). Sponsored by the MilVets and the GS Office of Development and Alumni Relations, we are excited to welcome our distinguished guest, Asha Castleberry-Hernandez ‘12SIPA, an Army veteran and respected National Security expert.

Asha Castleberry-Hernandez ‘12SIPA

Asha Castleberry is a distinguished National Security & Foreign Policy expert, a public speaker, television media commentator, a United States Army Veteran, and a former U.S. Congressional Candidate. 

Asha holds a B.A. in Political Science at Hampton University. At Hampton University, Asha was an active member of the Hampton University Marching Band. In 2005, she studied Law and Business in Shanghai, China, and at the University of Oxford New College. She wrote her thesis on the effects of Deng Xiaoping’s Economic Reform. In China, she met a lifetime colleague, Dr. Boyce Watkins, founder of the Black Business School. Asha was part of the Army Reserve Officer Training Officer (ROTC) and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 2006. In 2007, she continued her studies for a year at New York University Center for Global Affairs. In 2012, Asha earned a Masters in International Affairs at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs.
