Frank Guridy moderates panel on American Voter Project: Reimagining Our Democracy (Columbia Spectator)

Professor Frank Guridy moderated a lively panel in April about preserving democracy co-hosted by Eric H. Holder Jr. Initiative for Civil and Political Rights and Columbia Votes.

Guridy, who is executive director of the initiative and a professor of African American and African Diaspora Studies, moderated the event, which was covered by Columbia Spectator in a May 5 story.

The panel – “American Voter Project: Reimagining Our Democracy” – was held April 23 and featured former Attorney General Holder CC ’73, Law ’76; Karine Jean-Pierre, SIPA ’03, former White House press secretary and assistant to former President Joe Biden; María Teresa Kumar, the founding president of Voto Latino and MSNBC analyst; and Maurice Mitchell, national director of the Working Families Party.
